Job Description

The Senior Software Developer/Architect in the Applied Decision Systems Branch (ADSB) will support the Department of Defense (DoD) in the research and development of model-based and data-driven processes across multiple functionalities to improve acquisition decisions and system life cycle support.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Design, develop and implement software and tooling to aid in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) for military applications
Participate in and oversee the development and deployment of open source software and tooling
Develop and enforce coding standards, processes, and best practices
Lead small to mid-sized technical tasks and/or teams
Perform other duties as assigned.

Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist/Associate II

  • A Bachelor's and Master's degree with one or both in Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Information Technology, or Business Administration and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Bachelor's and Master's degree with one or both in Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Information Technology, or Business Administration and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree and Master's degree with one or both in Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Information Technology, or Business Administration.

Senior Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist/Associate

  • A Bachelor's and Master's degree with one or both in Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Information Technology, or Business Administration and seven (7) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Bachelor's and Master's degree with one or both in Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Information Technology, or Business Administration and nine (9) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in and Master's degree with one or both in Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Information Technology, or Business Administration and four (4) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in software development with specific skills in one or more of the following: C, C++, Ada, Java, Groovy, Python, MATLAB, or other modern programming languages
  • Experience developing APIs, RESTful services, micro-services
  • Experience with Web Service standards (REST, OpenAPI, RAML, SOAP, WSDL)
  • Experience with web development frameworks (Spring, Grails, Rails, Django) and Web Service development tools (Postman, Swagger)
  • Experience with JavaScript and related front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Ember, etc.)
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, unit testing, version control, continuous integration, code reviews
  • Experience with Continuous Integration technologies (Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.)
  • Experience with Virtualization and container software (Docker, Vagrant, Kubernetes, Rancher, Amazon Web Services)
  • Experience with JSON, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience with Databases (Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the DoD Acquisition process.
  • Experience with the DoD Digital Engineering Strategy
  • Experience building and delivering technical presentations to non-technical audiences
  • DevOps experience
