The Electronic Systems Laboratory (ELSYS) seeks a student intern in the Test Engineering Division (TEN) to begin fall 2020 semester in Warner Robins, GA. TEN researches existing and emerging military systems, primarily avionics, used to protect US and allied aircraft. TEN develops a wide range of products that range from threat protection systems that fly on military aircraft, software applications that enable testing of avionics systems, and mobile military applications to enable aircrews to use modern mobile devices to fly safer and more efficiently. The student will work under the guidance of GTRI researchers performing one or more of the following activities:
- Mobile app development and testing
- Electronic attack system development and testing
- Software testing and validation
- Electronic hardware development, sustainment, testing and troubleshooting
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical area
- Must be registered for at least 6 credit hours with your university
- Must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
- Experience in 1 or more programming languages
- Task/team leadership experience
- Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts
- Familiarity with mobile applications development and configuration management tools
- Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to a non-technical audience
- Familiarity with radar and RF concepts

15-20 hours per week

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Ability to obtain Secret Clearance upon hire
