Job Description
GTRI’s Support Services (SSD) is looking for a Student Assistant who will be working with our construction division. The student will help the SSD team to create project packages for GTRI construction projects. Work with the SSD team to review and document progress for GTRI construction projects. Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors throughout the project process. Take detailed meeting minutes for construction meetings and site walkthroughs. Maintain administrative and technical documents for construction projects.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Student Assistant/Research Assistant
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Building Construction, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
- Must be registered for at least 6 credit hours with your university
- 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
- Advanced to proficient knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Acrobat Reader
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous exposure to construction and project management
- Advanced to proficient knowledge of Exel
- Sophomore in academic standing
Hours per Week
20 hours per week
Morning and/or early-afternoon availability preferred, flexible hours

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
