GTRI’s Cooperative Education (“co-op”) program offers you extensive opportunities to participate in diverse scientific and technological endeavors, use state-of-the-art equipment and rapidly improve your technical and leadership skills. The program allows you to alternate three semesters of full-time work at GTRI with semesters of full-time school.
GTRI's Advanced Concepts Laboratory(ACL) is seeking motivated and creative co-op students who are interested in helping our teams of research engineers to solve a wide variety of challenging and exciting problems for Spring 2025. In our lab, we design, build, and test electromagnetic structures, and much of the hardware to support this research is developed and fabricated in house by our mechanical engineering co-op students.
In this role, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to help design mechanical systems to perform electromagnetics measurements, including integrating motion with measurement hardware. You will spend time designing and drawing components and then fabricating these structures using traditional machining and additive manufacturing techniques. In this position, you will also learn to measure antennas and characterize electromagnetic materials.

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
Housing and relocation assistance are not available for this position.
