Job Description

The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) Aerospace, Transportation and Advanced Systems Lab is seeking Graduate Research Assistant starting Spring 2025. The position’s general objective is to develop modeling and analysis frameworks that support realization of an entire power generation system that can take in aluminum scrap and produce hydrogen via reaction with water. Systems engineering (with emphasis upon Mechanical Engineering) and familiarity with hydrogen technologies and handling are desired candidate traits.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Graduate Research Assistant

  • Pursuing a Master’s degree or PhD at Georgia Tech in Mechanical Engineering
  • Must be enrolled full-time (12+ credit hours) during working semesters
  • 3.3 or higher GPA
  • Commit to 15-20 hours of work per week

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in 1 or more programming languages
  • Task / team leadership experience
  • Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts
  • Familiarity with Linux and open source tools
  • Configuration management tools
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas
  • Systems engineering (with emphasis upon Mechanical Engineering)
  • Familiarity with hydrogen technologies and handling are desired candidate traits.
