Project/Unit Description

The Test Engineering Division (TEN), part of the Electronic Systems Laboratory (ELSYS), specializes in applied research to advance Test and Evaluation (T&E) methodologies for Department of Defense (DoD) systems. With a core emphasis on Electronic Warfare (EW) and related technologies, TEN excels in developing sophisticated software-in-the-loop (SITL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) test systems. These systems generate a realistic and complex electromagnetic spectrum consistent with the challenges of tomorrow's battlespace that facilitate open-loop and closed-loop testing, system simulation/emulation, test automation, and comprehensive data analysis. Key research activities include T&E across the Radio Frequency (RF) and Electro-Optical/Infra-Red (EO/IR) spectrums, enabling high-fidelity testing of land, airborne, maritime, and spaceborne systems to ensure innovative solutions for diverse defense challenges.
