Job Description

Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is seeking an Logistics and Procurement Intern for its Aerospace, Transportation, and Advanced Systems Laboratory (ATAS) for Fall 2026. The intern will be responsible for assisting with logistics in the procurement and receiving process, identifying areas of inefficiency, assisting with logistics of inventory management, managing Bills of Materials by utilizing database tools, and performing physical inventory audits. This may include coordinating with vendors, suppliers, and engineers, as well as other elements of the parts handling process.

This position allows for the opportunity to gain experience with work orders, kitting, and quality assurance, as well as develop and implement processes across the program, lab, and potentially the organization. This position will require someone with exceptional problem solving, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.

This position will require in person attendance at the Cobb County Research Facility (CCRF), as well as the ability to handle/lift and deliver parts.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Intern

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering/STEM, business, or related fields
  • 3.0 or higher GPA
  • Full-Time Intern- Must be registered for Full-time Internship Credit
  • Ability to come in to CCRF in person
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate with suppliers, vendors, and engineers
  • Ability to handle/lift and deliver parts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Customer Service Experience
  • Relevant Work Experience

40 hours per week

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
